I saw Izzy True for the first time tonight at Alphaville in Brooklyn. It was one of the greatest moments of imagination and reality synthesis I’ve ever experienced. Unsupported by her band, blue hair only on one side of her head, and a hat to make any m’lady jealous, she brought an energetic, confident, and honest performance. In between the tunes and sometimes in the middle of them, she’d go off on tangents that included remarking (not a direct quote!!!!!!!) “5. Guitars are nice and are reminiscent of curvy bodies”. I’d recommend checking her out live whenever you can.
WHEN I SAW HER SOLO I GOT YOWLER MEETS ANGEL OLSEN VIBES. WHICH IS A GREAT THING IMO.
